On Monday May 17, 2010 Midwest Security & Fire started work on the Lakes Area Senior Center Fire Alarm Replacement project. Midwest Security & Fire will be removing all equipment and wiring throughout the building and replacing the system with a new addressable fire alarm system.

The building, which was formerly a nursing home and hospital, is now the current home to the Lakes Area Senior Center and offices for several area organizations. Although the system has been expanded several times throughout the years, it is estimated that the original controls and devices of the system were installed around 1958. The system was not functional and required replacement for the safety of the buildings occupants, property protection, and to meet various code requirements.

“We are excited to have been selected for the project and will be posting regular updates on the progress. This is a challenging installation due to the buildings constriuction and design”, said Andy Fyock, Project Manager for the installation. Midwest will be installing the addressable system using the GE Vigilant (Edwards) VS Fire Alarm System products. This manufacturer has been  leading technology in fire products around the world for decades and Midwest Security & Fire is proud to be the Authorized Vigilant Dealer for Central and Northern MN.
